Fujifilm have today announced a long list of updates to their cameras and lenses.
It is mostly a compatibility upgrade and a minor improvement to manual focussing on lenses as well as lens/teleconverter compatible body updates, there is also a fix for the X-Pro2 which is well worth getting. There is a reported improvement in the OIS for some lenses.
There are no new major features, or upgrades as there has been in the past, but these updates are always worth installing to make sure you have the latest version on your camera for when you need it, and I’m sure as is always the case with this type of thing (not just Fujifilm) there may be some minor bug fixes that they don’t necessarily publish.

One thing to be aware of, and this always crops up, is that you need to delete any old version of the .DAT files from your downloads folder because if you don’t they will be renamed by the computer and then the camera won’t recognise them. Also, despite what it may state in the instructions, you can copy all the .DAT to a single SD card and then use that card across multiple cameras instead of having to do each one individually.
To upgrade your camera, simply copy the DAT file to an SD card in the root directory, put the SD card in the camera and press “DISP/BACK” whilst turning the camera on and then follow the instructions. If you have the X-Pro2, the SD card with the firmware update files has to be in slot 1.
