On display at Photokina were three new lenses developed by Zeiss for the X-mount and E-mount cameras.  What makes these stand out from many 3rd party lenses is that they are auto-focusing and are built be Zeiss, not just under the Zeiss name.  Zeiss are planning a 2.8/12, 1.8/32 and 2.8/50 macro. Priced at around 1000$ and available in Spring/Summer 2013 they will make a nice addition to the X-mount range and will give X-series users more choice.  Probably the most interesting of the lot is going to be the 12mm as the others are perhaps a little too close to the existing Fuji range for my liking.  Testing them out will be the only way to see if they are worth buying over the Fujinon lenses, but it’s great to see other manufacturers taking the X-mount seriously and giving us some choice at least.
